sqtin Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 First I want to say many thanks to Lightning UK! ImgBurn is wonderful program. It seems I have a problem similar to one described in already existing topic. Some time ago disk burning speed has been decreased dramatically and buffer is constantly bouncing during burning. Can this indicate the problem with hardware? Here is BurnPlot graph on discovery mode.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 How is the drive connected to the PC? What happens if you use a DVD instead of a CD (Still with Discovery mode)? Post the burn log + burnplot pic from a DVD please.
sqtin Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 I have burnt dvd before making cd discovery. I 01:50:49 Operation Started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 You missed the important lines from the log. Never mind though because you already found an issue with what I'd have told you to check.
sqtin Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Hope these are lines you are speaking about. I have removed lines related only to ISO-file creation. Only one warning is shown here and as I remember it has been displaying all times before as I am using Daemon-Tools for a long time. Is it possible that Daemon-Tools prevent drive from working in DMA mode?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Yup, that's the top part that was missing but there should have also been a bottom line. Read the DMA post in the FAQ and do what it says under the 'Important' heading. You could also try the DMA option on the Tools menu. No, DAEMON Tools shouldn't cause any DMA issues. (it doesn't for me)
sqtin Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Thank you for help! Great! I used reset DMA option, rebooted computer and now all seems to be much better. Verify speed is such small because drive is reading in silent mode.
