1st post and a query

I have been using imgburn for some time and have never had any issues before

This post is not, I think, a problem with imgburn

I have some old CDR's - I bought a cake (100) from DABS some years ago and have never, until now, had a problem

They are by Discplanet, about 30 left

When I insert a blank I get the following messages in the status bar just after the log states 'Found 1 DVD±RW/RAM!'

Device not ready (logical unit is in process of becoming ready)

Device not ready (No reference point found)

The 'Discovery' window (RHS) is just 'greyed out'

I then close imgburn

DVD's seem fine - all Verbatim (Taiwan)

I attache the log file, but it dosn't show anything 'cos nothing has happened

Bad CD's or............

The drive seems to be having problems initialising them. Until it can/does, no software will be able to do anything with the disc.

Try the newer firmware - http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/LH-20A1S/files.html

Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc.

If they were just cheapo discs in the first place and you got them 'some years ago', they might have just gone bad - at least to a point where they no longer work in your drive.

Firmware updated & 'cleaned' with a TDK CD Audio cleaner (was all I had)

Didn't help

Oddball though - if I open the tray and turn the blank CD around a bit (like 1/4 turn) it works mostly
