chris_michaels Posted November 30, 2010 Share Posted November 30, 2010 hey guys please help i m new to this software..... i tried to burn a dvd (video_ts) folder i selected mode and then build. after that i checked the settings...method i used was iso9660 + udf and rest settings were set to default...everything went quite ok but in the process of verification it gave me errors....also i used the aws (max) and the disk i used was 16x dvd-r ....heres the log ...please tell where am i going wrong...again i tried with latest firmware tn03 as u can see in the log below that at that time my writer had firmware tn02 and 8x speed but still no success....however i think dvd is playing fine in media player....what does these mismatch errors mean i dont get it ?...thats it I 12:25:59 ImgBurn Version 2.5.2.0 started! If 4x, 8x and 16x all produce the same problem, try with different/better media. i.e. Verbatim (MMC or MKM dye) or Taiyo Yuden. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
chris_michaels Posted November 30, 2010 Author Share Posted November 30, 2010 i tried sony, verbatim but both got same errors...and my hard disk is having low space (only 350 mb is free in drive c) and i have only one partion in my hard drive of 160 gb.... so i guess low space is causing this problem. is it ? ...please tell and thanks... Your drive just seems to be returning incorrect data (zeroed sectors?) when the program attempts to read the sectors as part of the verify operation. Cleaning the drive (with a cleaning disc) might help... who knows! After that I'd probably check the drive in another PC or better still, get another drive to test in yours - they're only about £20 now. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
chris_michaels Posted November 30, 2010 Author Share Posted November 30, 2010 ok...but the disk i burned is that ok ? i mean the data in there is written correctly or not because when i insert that disk and verify it again, [without the image since the data i burned was not an image but a folder (video_ts) ] it gives me no error and i m able to run that video properly and i am also able to copy it.... LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 30, 2010 Share Posted November 30, 2010 You didn't get physical read errors, you got miscompares. So unless you compare it to something, there's no way of knowing. If you still have the source files somewhere, you could try comparing those to what's on the disc using something like Beyond Compare. Focus on 'VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB' as that was the 'problem' file. The seemingly empty sectors reported by your drive might have just been due to a bad read caused by heat in the drive or something. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
chris_michaels Posted December 1, 2010 Author Share Posted December 1, 2010 (edited) well i confirmed the disk i burned at 16x...i am able to copy it perfectly without any problem and i saw the whole dvd and it plays fine too...however the two disks which i burned at 8x (one with nero and one with img burn) got same issues ...i mean my writer is not able to read it properly as when i try to copy or make a image of that disk..the speed just goes down at 10% from (21,000kbps to 150 kbps ) and it just goes so slow and slow...then i just quit the program coz it takes time and time..but that disk (burned at 8x) plays fine in media player i guess..so i guess its a issue with my writer as i think it has dust in it and i havent cleaned the lens from like 6 months....i guess cleaning the lens will solve the problem.....because my writer is not able to read properly [most of the disk which are burned at low speeds (8x) ]...so what do u say...and i checked all 3 disks by verifying it with the image in imgburn but still it got mismatch error....and i just deleted the image coz i think that data in that dvd plays fine and my hdd was low in space.... If the drive isn't working correctly, either get it fixed (replaced) under warranty or just get yourself another one. You can pick them up for £10 - £20 now so it's hardly worth wasting hours and hours of your time (not to mention a load of blank discs) on them.
