`Kyle
My drive has been having trouble burning disks lately and I'm using verbatim media. I 13:45:06 -> Drive 1 - Info: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T50N RR07 (D:) (ATAPI) I go to check drive for firmware updates and there's quite a few available updates. http://www.firmwarehq.com/drive.php?inq=HL-DT-ST%20DVDRAM%20GSA-T50N&chk=70 I tried them all.... And the Ry05 update won't do anything. I'm on windows 7 x64. I even tried windows xp x32. The other firmware updates open up a GUI but they say my drive isn't found.... I do not understand:( Why won't my stupid drive be detected... I have Intel Matrix storage manager installed. (Some other forum posted this fixed their drive being detected by the system). What do I do?
LIGHTNING UK!
You have RR07 so sticking with that sequence, you'd need RR08 or something - which doesn't exist. The other ones are for drives in certain machines (dell, hp, ibm etc).

LIGHTNING UK!
Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc or buy a new one - a decent external 'normal' size one. (can be an internal normal size one in a generic enclosure)
