travis Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I'm new at this. I can't seem to find definitions of "miscompare" and "Read Error". What are they? How are they different? Thanks
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Well, a read error is where your drive can't read the disc (a physical/hard error). As miscompare is where the drive has read the disc but the data it returned is different to what it should have returned.
travis Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 Is a Read Error akin to a Parity Outer Failure (POF)?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Not sure I've ever scanned a disc that's had a read error during the verify phase or whatever, but yeah I would assume they're the same thing.
