Hello All

 

I desperately need some help!!! I have been using imgburn to make DVDs. I have used Verbatim 16x, Maxell 16x and Taiyo Yuden discs but keep getting the same problem. The DVD plays ok for a little while and the picture becomes pixelated, the sound gets distorted and the picture freezes. I have burned at 2x, 4x, 8x and 12x but no joy. I have wasted around 20 discs. I convert first with Winavi. I don't use any programs while I'm burning the disc. Here is the log:

I really don't know what to do!!!

The second log show that burn and verify is succesful. The first disc was not verifyed so we don't know if it was a good burn.

 

The problem may come from convertion. Verify with a software player the compression result before burn to disc.

 

Btw, your Vista is still SP1, you may consider an update.

Yes, it's good but it costs 39.99 €.

 

Probably your codecs on system are messed up.

 

You may also try DVDStyler.

Start with uninstalling all codec packs that you may have installed, than reinstall only one pack of your choice.

Also when I burn by DVDs on Imgburn what should the settings be?

Me neither don't know how to fix codecs with that tool.

 

All I know is that if you install more packs on a system they tend to mess things up.

 

You have to sort out and unninstall them, I don't know another way, sorry.

 

Then install only one pack. I use K-Lite and seems to do the job.

ImgBurn will suggest the correct settings if it recognise a valid DVD Video stucture, just agree and it will care the rest.

I know how to use google There's no need to be sarcastic and address me like I'm a simpleton ok???? I've tried searching for it but all the info is all as clear as mud and doesn't help at all. I want to do this properly so I don't remove something I shouldn't

I'm still getting bad burns. I've uninstalled all codecs and just installed codec k-lite pack (mega) only. I've updated my driver software. I've used Maxell, Verbatim and TY discs but still the same result. Tried write speeds of 2x, 4x, 8x and 12x also. I don't use any programs when the disc is being burned. Using Winavi to convert to VOB format. I have no idea how to sort this problem out!!!! The log is below. Please help!!!

Take off all codec packs.

 

Install ConvertXtoDVD and see if that can convert your files properly.

 

What are you actually using as a playback device? Your PC? A standalone player?

 

You mentioned SP2 wouldn't install. Don't just leave it at that, find out what the error is and look into solving the problem. Someone, somewhere will have solved the issue before - you just need to Google for the answer.
