Icemanza Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Im trying to burn a backup of avatar 3D on to a Verbatim BD-R 50gig with a LG BH10LS30 BD-R/BD-R and i keep getting different errors.I updated the firmware and even uninstalled and reinstalled imgburn. Before this all started i was able to burn 3 other 3D blurays on the same typ of disc but now i get the errors below on the discs. I dont want to keep waisting them as they will end up as expensive coasters.I normally test them on a BD-RE 50gig and no probs then i would do a burn on to the BD-R 50gig.I have also tried Traxdata BD-R 25gig and it burns no problem. I have tried burning DVDs and this is the first problem i have encountered with this drive and with imgburn. It seems to sit on writing leadIn and then the errors pop up.Not sure if there are any setting i need to change or maybe drivers or if there is new firmware for the LG as i have 1.00.9 and ive looked around and cant seem to figure it out. These are the two errors im getting below with different discs but from the same brand ie verbatim. LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 It looks like you tried to reuse the same disc in the second log. Is that the case? If so, you have to just ignore that one. If 'VERBAT-IMd-000' aren't working well in your drive, perhaps give the 'VERBAT-IMb-000' or 'VERBAT-IMf-000' versions a go instead.

Yes i did try the same disc again as it was showing empty and say 50gig space available.Ok will do that but i ve managed to burn a few of these discs before these errors popped up. What is the best way in finding these discs with that mid code? Would you possibly have any links for me pls. Edited January 18, 2011 by Icemanza
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 You'd have to look at some online stores in your country that sell Blu-ray discs and hope they list the MIDs.
Icemanza Posted January 20, 2011 Author Posted January 20, 2011 I managed to use the same disc as before and it worked no problem as you can see below but then i tried to burn another movie and it started ok but then it all went tits up at the end bit. I used the same discs as i have some left over. So why would it be doing this then becuase i first got the Program Memory Area Update Failure thing then it started burning then incompatible after it started to finalise the disc. Is it possible to maybe get img burn to be more compatible with these discs or maybe my burner if that is the problem just so we can sort of find out twhere the cuase is. thanks I 23:53:58 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! Icemanza Posted January 20, 2011 Author Posted January 20, 2011 It looks like you tried to reuse the same disc in the second log. Is that the case? If so, you have to just ignore that one. If 'VERBAT-IMd-000' aren't working well in your drive, perhaps give the 'VERBAT-IMb-000' or 'VERBAT-IMf-000' versions a go instead. But this is the disc im using and it has the same mid code as you have mentioned above! VERBAT-IMd-000 You'd have to look at some online stores in your country that sell Blu-ray discs and hope they list the MIDs. Im in the UK by the way :-)
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 No, there's 'VERBAT-IMb-000', 'VERBAT-IMd-000' and 'VERBAT-IMf-000'. (That's b, d and f versions) b is the slowest rated one (write speed wise, that's normally 2x), then d (4x), then f (6x). So if you're using d (4x), that still leaves b (2x) and f (6x) for you to try. As you're buying Verbatim, you don't really need MID codes, you just need to look at the rated speed of the disc. If you're in the UK like me, you can use places like: TotalBlankMedia - http://www.totalblankmedia.com/bluray-r-c-93_95.html?filter_id=13&sort=3a DiskDepot - http://www.diskdepot.co.uk/acatalog/blu-ray.html eBay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/ SVP - http://www.svp.co.uk/ ARP Media - http://www.aprmedia.com/category.php?cid=136&bid=22§or=2&link=m Basically, any semi decent Google search will return some good links of where to buy them so just go to wherever suits you best.

Oh sorry for my ignorance man i didnt notice the b , d but i did notice f becuase they looked similar. Yes ill try that and see what happens but would you perhaps know why it would still write to the discs then wont for another?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Burning isn't something that's always successful or always fails. There are loads of stages in between and I guess you're hovering right around the success/failure point. Basically, you're playing Russian roulette.
