Just purchased a Lite-On HB212 BD dual layer burner, but because of the cost of dual layer blanks, I only bought single layer balnks (Optical Quantum 25GB BD-R). I'm running WinXP SP3. I have not yet successfully burned a BD. So far I have about 7 or 8 coasters. ImgBurn writes to about 3/4 of the data and then a write error occurs. I don't know if it is the Lite-On HB212 burner, or if I'm doing something wrong. The ImgBurn's "test mode" still burns to discs, so the Lite-On drive musn't acknowledge the laser power command.

One thing I noticed on the last two burns is that the error statements both have the exact same "sense area" address (71 00 03 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 0C 00 00 00 00 00). What is a "sense area"? Could this be indicative of a hardware problem? The "CDB"s were different in the two error windows.

The log includes the following statement "Failed to Write Sectors 8394784 - 8394815 - Reason: Write Error". ImgBurn then retries 20 times and each time says "Retry Failed - Reason: Invalid Address For Write".

Any thoughts? TIA
