Luv01 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Hello, Fact:I never burnt anything in my life. Now I need to do it because I'm going to reformat and I need the drivers on a disc. I just bought 3 Verbatim dvd-rw 4x but each time I succeed burning a file,Imgburn displays "Ready (Discs needs erasing)" when I want to burn something else !!! I'm on XP/sp3,with an ASUS DRW-2014L1T 1.02.Sorry for the dry style but I'm just ready to burst. Can somebody help me,please ? Thank you.
ianymaty Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6392&view=findpost&p=66439 Just click on the big button, ImgBurn will take care of erasing and writing the new data on the disc.

ianymaty Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 That log shows burn and verify is OK. As long as the tray is closed and the disc is in it that will show. It's OK. Can you acces the files on the disc? What is the real problem?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Isn't it easier to put the drivers on a USB stick?
Luv01 Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 I'm not sure but I think I now understand:I was expecting dynamic burning. That means that I thought that it was possible to burn any file any time on the dvd as long as it doesn't exceed the capacity of the disc. But in reality,I can write only once the dvd.If I want to add something,I have to go through the whole burning process again. In other words,I can't add something to an already burnt dvd.I have to burn it again with the additional file. Could it be that I'm looking really for a dvd-ram drive ? @LIGHTNING UK: I would like that but every tutorial I read insists on the fact that you have to prepare "a cd with the drivers".Are you saying that there's some kind of elementary USB support when XP is freshly installed ? Many thanks to both of you for your patience.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Yes, USB works fine. I built 2 PC's (with XP SP3) just yesterday and installed the chipset / graphics drivers from a USB stick once I was in Windows. They both had Intel chipsets (Q35 to be exact).
ianymaty Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 What you try to explain, adding a file than another sometimes when you want and again and again is called "multisession" ImgBurn can't do that. You have to put all you need in one session than rebuild the disc from scratch if you want to add more. The best solution is what LUK! suggest.
