trl_path Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I have a couple of FLAC files on an album that might be 24 bit. IMGburn can't add them to a cue file (as per here - the other files on the album are fine). When I de and re encode them with Flac I get the follwing "WARNING: legacy WAVE file has format type 1 but bits-per-sample=24". I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the best way to convert them to a flac file that can be burnt onto an audio CD?
Rincewind Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Google Audacity, it is an open source sound editor. You should be able to open your FLAC file with it, and dither the file down to 16-bit, 44.1KHz.
trl_path Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 Thanks Rincewind, much appreciated!
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Have you tried all of the DirectShow FLAC filters? I'd have thought at least one of them would be able to handle 24 bit files.
