Caiada Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) I've just started using ImgBurn today, and its really the first time I've tried to burn ANYTHING. I'm using an older drive and mediocre CD-RWs, but I'm not sure that's the problem here. I'd heard that that would destroy the disks, but these disks still work fine. They're just empty. When it tries to verify after the burn, I get "Layouts do not match". Don't know what that means. Can someone tell me what's going on here? LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Try this firmware update. http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1582-file_sp26570.exe.html At the moment, your drive is just doing a rubbish job of burning those disc. Do you have any DVD-RW or DVD+RW, use one of those instead.
Caiada Posted February 19, 2011 Author Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) The firmware update requires me to create a Boot CD, that doesn't make much sense to me... I'll try DVD+RWs soon and get back to you. Edited February 19, 2011 by Caiada
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Hmm annoying old firmware that expects to be run in DOS! I've gone to the trouble of extracting the raw BIN file from the flasher. BPSD.zip Flash the bin (extract from the zip file first!) to your drive using the following tool... http://club.myce.com/f44/flash-utility-plds-liteon-based-optical-drives-v6-0-1-new-190420/
