wolf1012 Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Hi! I've a big problem! I bought these BD-R 50gb (VERBAT-IMf-000) and i try to copy an ISO file (as usual) but i received this error: "Failed to Write Sectors 0 - 31 - Reason: Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format and "Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format" for many many times. I never had this type of problem with my LG BD-RE BH10LS30. What can i do to solve this big problem? Please... help me!!! Thanks!!!
mmalves Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Please post the log from that burn attempt.

ianymaty Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 This is the real problem, the first error W 19:42:47 Failed to Write Sectors 0 - 31 - Reason: Program Memory Area Update Failure There is a pinned thread about this problem http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=7860 Make sure you use the latest firmware (1.00-09) on your drive http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/BH10LS30/files.html Yo can see more firmware version information by going to the Device Capabilities window and when checking for firmware updates. Rightclick on the drive and select one of the last options from the context menu.
wolf1012 Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 Thanks, i check my device and i have already the last firmware installed. This is the first time that i have this problem... Can you help me to solve this big problem? can i solve with a change of program? Really thanks!!!
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 If it's the first and only time, you might just have to try another disc. I burnt those at 6x during my tests - that's their actual rated speed yeah?
wolf1012 Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 Do you think that the speed writing can be the problem? This is the first time with these discs (VERBAT-IMf-000). I try with the speed at 2x... you say that it will be better to write at 6x?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Slower doesn't always equal better, especially not these days. All you can do is try.
wolf1012 Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 (edited) Thanks, but do you know if my bd burner lg bh10ls30 can burn this type of BD-R disc (VERBAT-IMf-000)? I don't know if this error: "Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format" may be caused from the speed writing... Edited February 25, 2011 by wolf1012
Cynthia Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I don't know if this error: "Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format" may be caused from the speed writing... W 19:42:47 Failed to Write Sectors 0 - 31 - Reason: Program Memory Area Update Failure That's the "real" error. A different speed/disc might work.
wolf1012 Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 A different speed/disc might work. Thanks Cynthia, but i burned at 2x, is it possible for you that this error appears because I burned with speed too low?
Cynthia Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I've had this issue with PMAU errors on my Lite-Ons and in that case it seems related to the amount of sectors for a specific disc image. It also happens at the end of the burn in my cases. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=7860 In this case you get it at the start of the burn and I've never had a LG burner so it might be the speed that is the issue.
wolf1012 Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 so it might be the speed that is the issue. Than, if i burned at 2x and i have failed the copy, will must try to burn at 4 or 6x of speed.... right?
