Hello,

When I try to make image file from disc - ImgBurn freeze.

I 01:28:29 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started!

I 01:28:29 Microsoft Windows Server 2008 "R2", Standard x64 Edition (6.1, Build 7601 : Service Pack 1)

I 01:28:29 Total Physical Memory: 4 193 324 KB - Available: 2 469 724 KB

W 01:28:29 Duplex Secure's SPTD driver can have a detrimental effect on drive performance.

I 01:28:29 Initialising SPTI...

I 01:28:30 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

I 01:28:30 -> Drive 1 - Info: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4165B DL03 (G:) (RAID)

I 01:28:30 -> Drive 2 - Info: LITE-ON LTR-52246S 6S0C (H:) (RAID)

I 01:28:30 -> Drive 3 - Info: UHKROHU KT67WPM 1.03 (E:) (SCSI)

I 01:28:30 Found 1 CD-RW, 1 DVD±RW/RAM and 1 BD-ROM!

After this I cannot access my CD. I have to restart Windows using Power switch, because Windows cannot shutdown properly (it freezes at last windows screen - just before shutdown)

How do I turn on debugging so I can provide more info to help you solve this issue.

at this point it freezes. IDE LED is always on!

I have 1 SATA HDD and I use it in AHCI mode. Also my optical drives are using 80 pin IDE cable.

The IDE controller is in RAID mode and that's probably what's causing this problem.

Run SIW on that system and find out which storage controller(s) you have, then look for their latest drivers.

If you prefer you can export your hardware configuration and we'll take a look (in SIW right-click the Hardware option in the tree then Export to -> HTML)

Now I understand what you mean.

I have Marvell RAID controller. I think optical drives are connected to it.

Also I found some newer drivers which i will try now.

Have look at my config please. My mb is Asus p5q3 deluxe

People say that I have to disable RAID in BIOS, but I don't have such option. I can only enable/disable controller and enable/disable boot rom.

Interesting is that I can burn disc without any problem with this configuration.

PS. Eventually I can try to flash the BIOS of this Marvell controller but looks kinda risky to me and I have to create DOS boot disc.

Ideally you want to stop using the Marvell controller for optical drives. (If the drives are on that, that's the one you need updated drivers for)

If you really must keep using your old IDE drives, get a Silicon Image PCI card and run them off that.

Well I already know the "BUY this and that" solution.

Just tell me how ImgBurn is burning discs without any problems, but can't read it?!?!!?

This is the only option for my mainboard to support ide optical drives and it should work!

Your system / drive is having trouble processing that command, ImgBurn is simply waiting for a reply (success or failure, it doesn't care which).

Sorry but there's nothing I can do about what's happening beyond what you've already been told.

Optical drives have only ever worked nicely on a few 3rd party controllers and Marvell isn't one of them.
