scuba78 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Hi! I'm trying to burn a dual layer dvd r- on a Samsung drive at 2.4x and each time I try it has the following error. The disc burns fine but I'm very puzzled as to why it no longer hits the requested speed. It used to work with out fault prior to the last time I updated Img Burn. Here is a more complete log of the events. I 18:00:52 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 You can't force a drive to burn at a speed it simply doesn't support. I 18:02:05 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: MKM-003-00) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 10x) As you can see, 2.4x isn't an option. The program showing a new warning to that effect does not mean it's a bug.
scuba78 Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 Hmm, so has my drive always been doing this and just not warning me about it ?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 With that media, yes. It might well support other MIDs (e.g. MKM-001-00) at 2.4x but MKM-003-00 is only supported at 4x upwards.
scuba78 Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 Ah i see, Thanks for the quick response, and excuse the ultimately silly question. =]
