DirtBikeMike
I have some mpeg2 files that I have captured from VHS tapes. I am helping out a buddy that does not have a VCR. I want to give him these data files for him to load on his PC for editing/authoring and burning to DVD. For some unknown reason I am unable to burn to data DVD-RW or copy these files to a USB thumb drive. when I try to do this I get a error message that says "unable to find file" or "unable to copy file". When I try to burn these files using ImageBurn to a blank DVD-RW the burn gets all the way to the end and then I get an error message that says "I/O error". The files play fine when I click on them, and I am able to copy/paste these files to new folders on different drives on my PC with no problems. I have copied/pasted the file media info below. I need help working through this problem. Thank you. ianymaty
Try cleaning the lens of the drive with a lens cleaning disc. Make sure that the RW disc is in good condition (no scratches or fingerprints). Try a new one if that was used for a long time. Try 2x burning speed, obviously (MAX) 4x don't work. Use a regular blank disc instead of RW disc. If nothing helps, buy a new drive.
