michealoriain Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Hi Everybody, I'm a complete newbie with ImgBurn... just downloaded it last night but it looks great and really easy to use... except the finished product I'm getting isn't what I expected: a data disc instead of a video disc. I've read the guides but they refer to VOB/IFO/BUP files and VIDEO_TS directory, which I can't see how to create, despite a fairly extensive search of the ImgBurn website and the wider Google world. I've also watched the YouTube videoes that show how to burn a disc, and they do exactly what I'm doing myself (as best I can see) but I'm ending up with a data disc: when I insert the disc into a Playstation it displays as a Data disc and while I can see the video, there is no audio. When I insert the disk into my laptop, it shows as a standard data disc: I can see the root diretory and cd into the directory and see the original WMV file... this doesn't sound right? Please forgive my innocence and inexperience, clearly I'm omitting something simple in my procedure but I can't see what I'm doing wrong... can anybody please enlighten me? LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 ImgBurn burns as-is. If you don't want a WMV file on the disc, don't feed ImgBurn a WMV file. Convert your WMV file into a set of DVD Video compliant files using something like DVDFlick or ConvertXtoDVD and then burn the result with ImgBurn.
michealoriain Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Thank you very much Lightning UK! I'll follow your suggestion. I did come across DVD Flick in my search last night but didn't know if it was a necessary part of my workflow or not... thanks for clarifying
