Internal Target Failure when finalising disc

Hi guys,

 

trying to burn but having problems when finalising. ive used the media before but appear to be having problems now

any ideas? the drive isnt particularly old so im wondering. thanks

Well, it's probably 3 years old and there have been 3 newer versions since then :P

 

Try the other supported write speeds.

 

Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc.

 

If it's just started to happen at the same time as getting a new spindle of discs, maybe they're faulty?

my drive?

 

if so i'll probably just order a new one tonight, could you recommend me a modern(ish), reasonably priced and solid performer if so?

Yes, your drive.

 

The latest firmware dates back to November 2008 - so the drive itself must have been released some time before that.

 

All DVD burners are about £15 - £25 now, they aren't the money they used to be :)

 

The Optiarc 726x series seem to be pretty decent.

sold :D

 

now that i think of it i recently built this computer however i think i poached the drive from my old one, would make sense
