LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Well, it's probably 3 years old and there have been 3 newer versions since then Try the other supported write speeds. Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. If it's just started to happen at the same time as getting a new spindle of discs, maybe they're faulty?

LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Yes, your drive. The latest firmware dates back to November 2008 - so the drive itself must have been released some time before that. All DVD burners are about £15 - £25 now, they aren't the money they used to be The Optiarc 726x series seem to be pretty decent.
