I USE ANYDVDHD TO RIP BLURAYS TO MY HARD DRVIE. THEN I USE BD-REBUILDER TO SHRINK MOVIE ONLY TO FIT ON A 25GB BLURAY. I USE PHILIP BD-R. MY BLURAY BURNER IS AN ASUS EXTERNAL WRITER. THEN I USE IMGBURN TO WRITE THE BDMV AND CERTIFICATE FOLDER. I HAVE BURNED ABOUT TEN BLURAYS WITH NO PROBLEM. BUT RECENTLY I HAVE STARTED HAVING MAJOR ISSUES TRYING TO BURN THE BLURAY "MAN ON FIRE". THE ISSUE COMES WITH THE WRITE RETRIES. IT KEEPS GIVING MY A LARGE NUMBER OF WRITE RETRIES. BUT AT THE END SAYS BURN SUCCESSFUL. BUT WHEN I PLAY THE MOVIE, A LIL PAST THE MIDDLE IT FREEZES AND DOESNT LET ME SKIP PAST SCENES AT THAT POINT..... PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME. I HAVE WASTED MANY BLANK BLURAYS AND I HAVE TRIED CHANGING THE SETTINGS. BUT NOTHING HAS WORKED... PLEASE PLEASE HELP... THANX

Again with the capitals!

You do realise that's REALLY annoying yeah?

It's considered 'shouting'... and that's just rude, especially when you're asking for help.

Posted

lol yeah that might be it.

Thinking about it, it was probably just a cut and paste from the (now deleted) topic in the 'Bugs' forum.

I guess it was too much effort to rewrite it nicely.

I have no faith in slimline drives at all. Never buy one if you actually have a choice.

Yours looks like it has buggy firmware as I doubt the Write operation should ever actually continue beyond the very first error.

Try burning at 4x rather than 2x (1x isn't a valid speed so the drive used 2x anyway).

Try with some other discs - some that don't use the 'PHILIP-R04-000' dye.

Verify your burns. That way you'll know if everything is as it should be.
