Diavel Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Hello - I burned several copies of the same video_ts folder. I'm using 8x Verbatim DataLifePlus DVD+R DL discs burning on 4x speed. I'm getting errors only when the burner is working on layer 1. I don't get any errors on layer 0. Also, some discs burn both layers with no errors (like the second one from the log file below). Here is the error: Waiting for buffers to recover... Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level... I've read about these errors creating coasters for others, but I haven't had one bad disc! ALL of the discs seem to play fine. I haven't watched any completely, but I've watched several minutes at various points on each. I have also verified some burns and got no errors during verification on any disc. So, am I getting lucky by getting playable discs or is the error not that serious? I'm burning on a: Dell XPS 410 quad core 3 GB Ram Standard DVD burner that came with it. LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Whilst the buffers running out isn't ideal, it's not a coaster maker. You just need to figure out what's stopping your machine from providing ImgBurn with ~5MB/s in a steady stream... it's not exactly asking a lot! Try defragging your hdd or something and don't use the hdd for anything else (if you can help it) whilst burning. Random access will kill the sequential transfer rate.
