Eran Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 (edited) When verification process almost neared the end, it suddenly stopped verifying and an error message appeared on my computer screen. I had no way of knowing why it stopped verifying. Please find an enclosed log file that generated by ImgBurn utility. I hope it will help you find out why and please help me to solve the problem successfully. For your information: Maybe burning was successful but verifying was failed. My laptop is Dell Inspiron 1545 Everything was at default both in Windows and ImgBurn (I switched from 8.3 characters to 31 characters before burning, that was all.) I never cleaned registry and left my Windows operating system alone. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, mrerk ImgBurn.log Edited August 20, 2011 by Eran
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Update the firmware on your drive. http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1516-file_R235097.exe.html Your drive seems to have produced a bad (low quality) burn on that disc, and that's why it couldn't then read it back properly. If that's your first failure, just write it off and burn another one. If they all keep failing, try a different spindle of discs and/or try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc.
Eran Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) My DVD device was updated successfully to DW10 (firmware updated) and the DVD device was cleaned successfully by a DVD laser lens cleaner today. When verification process almost neared the end, it stopped verifying again!! I was helpless. Maybe building fewer files/folders to DVD disc and/or lower speed such as 4x instead of 8x will help. I use Verbatim DVD+R 16x, are they very good discs? The file IMG_0193.tif that was one of files written to DVD disc by ImgBurn was not corrupt. I successfully saw that picture with Faststone Image Viewer. Please find an enclosed log file and please help me to solve the problem. I think the problem is very difficult. Thank you, mrerk ImgBurn.log Edited August 21, 2011 by Eran
