Spindle Servo Failure - New drive ?

Hi ImgBurn Community,

first sry for my bad English I hope you can understand me!

I have a problem with ImgBurn, I wanted to Burn Verbatim DVD+ DL but since one month it failed.

Tested it with 4x 6x 8x (2,4x my drive doesn't support)

As it failed I tested it first with no SPTD Driver , failed.

I searched for a new Driver, have the newest.

After that I reinstall Windows 7 and tested it, failed.

At Next I opened the drive and clean it manuelly(But there was no dirt), test failed.

Iam thinking that I need a new one ... but first I ask you if I need a new one ?

Or is there some alternative?

CD+ -> All fine, burns 20 in a row all perfekt!

DVD+ -> All fine, burns many of it and they were all fine, too!

DVD+DL -> Anytime I want to Burn Verbatim DVD+DL , the burntask closed with Error <5% (90% of it the rest it stops at 5%< <50%)(15 Times tested)

Thanks for helping!

Edit: Yes I read the pinned topic and 2 topics with Spindle Servo failure (one of it -> Look pinned topic number 5)

And do you know a good drive for Verbatim +DL ? It would be perfekt if I could scan with it too.

Can I adjust the Laser or something like that?

Don't try and reuse a disc that's failed previously - as you've done in that log.

Cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc may help. Due to the price of them, you're better off getting a new drive instead if you don't already have access to one.

If you want a new drive, go for something like an Optiarc 7260/7280.

First thanks for the answer! :)

Didn't see that this one was an used disc Oo (Have looked only on the back of disc)

But testet it with 15+...

The Laser I cleaned manually, I found it better than the cleaning disc... Have not heard good things about it.

Both drives are very Cheap , have planned more money for a new drive but this is fine :D .

Don't find this answer, can I scan the quality of burned data with it ? + can it read Jitter ?

greeting

Huge Thanks ! (can't vote you positive -.- reached for this day ...)

PS: Today & Yesterday you posted here at 04:58 PM ^^

Edit for Users which read this and have the same Questions:

I read this:

- the Sony Optiarc 7240 is a very good DVD+DL Burner, but sometimes he is loud (no Problem for me) Not Very Good for DL. LiteOn iHAS 624 can do both Burning and Scanning, but have Problems with original CDs.

-> The Sony-drive can Scan the burned DvD Pie, Pif but no Jitter (not only verify ;) for more Infos look here if you can read German )

- the LiteOn iHAS122 is a good Scan drive (to test quality)he can scan Pie, Pif and Jitter!

If I have more Informations or tested one of them I will post it here!

Greeting

J-Jack
