Hangs on 'Synchronising Cache'

Hi all,

Hope I can get some help here.

Imgburn seems to sometimes work and other times hangs after writing to the disc. It

appears to get stuck on 'Synchronising Cache' with the drive spinning and the only way out is to switch off. Not even a restart seems to work. The drive is a Samsung

Writemaster and I'm using Windows XP. Drive is fairly new and was bought to replace a Lite-on which never gave any problems with ImgBurn. After restarting ImgBurn, CDBurnerXP and DVDDecrypter all report the disc as Empty. But trying to write to it fails. I did a test on a DVD+RW and it worked fine but on a DVD+r it failed.

First log is with the +rw and the disc works fine second log is with the +r and had to switch off after about 40 minutes.
