problem burning 3d blu-ray to BD-R DL

I wanted to make a "cloned" back-up of Megamind 3D.

1st step was to put a good .iso copy onto my hard disc using AnyDVD 6.8.5.0 & ImgBurn 2.5.5.0

(i have 3d capability on my pc, so i know the .iso was perfect:)

So, according to what i've read, all i need to do is purchase some ($$$) 50GB BD-R DL discs (Optical Quantum 6x) & this should be no problem...

So I selected "write image file to disc" and waited for my copy to be complete....it seemed to burn well, but as soon as it started to verify, the dreaded miscompares began...

I tried 2 discs & got the same exact thing.

Any help would be appreciated...IMG burn @ default settings...Maybe bad discs?

Here are the logs from both burn attempts. I think i tried the one using AnyDVD/IMGburn, and the other using dvdFab/IMGburn... verified one automatically, the other against disc image.

Update your burner's firmware and try again. You could also try burning at 4x.

 

It would be best, though, if you used Verbatim BD-R DL media, as the one you have uses low quality CMC MAG dye/ink.

Firmware update worked!

 

The Optical Quantum discs seem to work fine (i've used other O.Q. discs & had no prob's) and are cheaper, but the Verbatim discs are higher quality/higher price. I know the discs are made differently (& i have ordered some via eBay) but I'm curious, could you explain what the difference is from a user standpoint... Do they last longer, have fewer errors, etc....

From our tests Verbatim is the only one that gives constantly good burns and readable discs on most devices.
