Prologue: I haven't found a workable solution for this after searching the forum

I have tried two different brands of DVDs, Memorex and Ativa. I have tried burning different things (including a data CD with a single mp3) but mostly I've been trying to burn a VIDEO_TS folder (2GB approx). I have also tried with WMP just for troubleshooting purposes. I have downloaded the latest drivers for my DVD drive.

PS: Halp plz <3

Right well that's a complete mess :)

Eject and reinsert it a few times to see if it ever looks correct.

If it doesn't, try using some better discs.

The drive might not like the 'UME02' dye/MID very much.

I'd be interested to see a burn log from the 'other' discs you used - and also the disc info from them.

If the drive is playing up with all discs, try cleaning it with a cleaning disc or invest in another drive.

I've never had issues with this drive before and I've used two different types of DVD brands so far. So I don't think this is the issue.

I've gotten the same errors on other discs. Maybe my drive finally KO'd...

Pressing continue game me the error again, so I pressed cancel.

The GH30N is a 16x speed DVD burner and it's only listing 4x as a supported speed for the 'MBI 01RG40' dye/MID... so it probably doesn't have *any* support for that one in its firmware and is using some sort of generic / fallback write strategy - which is failing miserably (hence the unreadable disc).

Both DVD brands i got say 16x write speed on them. I manually changed ImgBurn settings to 4x after getting a bunch of errors. So I'm not sure what is going on.

For a burner that supports that media code/discs in the firmware, they can be burned up to 16x. Your burner doesn't do that according to the log.

You have only one speed to try with.

I 19:56:41 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: MBI 01RG40) (Speeds: 4x)

Despite what other speed you select, the burner will always use 4x for that disc id.

Set it to 4x and I'm getting an unending stream of errors that look like this

I 23:48:05 Verifying Sectors...
W 23:48:05 Failed to Read Sector 0 - Reason: Unable to Recover TOC
W 23:48:12 Failed to Read Sector 0 - Reason: Unable to Recover TOC

W 23:48:13 Failed to Read Sector 1 - Reason: Unable to Recover TOC
W 23:48:13 Failed to Read Sector 2 - Reason: Unable to Recover TOC
W 23:48:13 Failed to Read Sector 2 - Reason: Unable to Recover TOC

Anecdotally: I had my computer volume turned up all the way with my roomies family a door away and the failure noise that sounds like a porn sample probably doesnt portray me in the best of light right now. ihbt.
