I have read the guides and the FAQs and searched for my problem in the forum to the extent that the search function would allow me to do so.

Using ImgBurn 2.5 with Windows 7, I converted the audio portion of a .vob file into a .wav file, and then used ImgBurn to create a .cue file.

Following the guide, I went into the write mode.

The Disc information at the right showed that ImgBurn recognized that I had a CD-R in the drive and intended to burn a CD-R.

>HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GE20LU11 CL01 (USB)

>Current Profile: CD-R

>Disc Information:

>Status: Empty

>State of Last Session: Empty

>Erasable: No

>Free Sectors: 359.844

>Free Space: 736.960.512 bytes

>Free Time: 79:59:69 (MM:SS:FF)

>Next Writable Address: 0

>Supported Write Speeds: 4x; 8x; 16x; 24x; 32x; 40x; 48x

I then clicked the big Write button and got the error message:

"Your image doesn't appear to be of the correct format for burning onto a DVD.

Image Track Format: Audio/2352

DVD track format: Mode1/2048"

Why, if it knows I am burning onto a CD-R, does ImgBurn tell me that my image is unsuitable for burning onto a DVD?

Thanks for your help!

Frank

P.S. I have used ImgBurn for years with great success in burning DVDs!

You've probably messed with the 'Write Mode' option in the settings ('Write' tab).

Put it back on Auto.

You need to update ImgBurn too.

Oh, and install SP1 for Windows 7.

Posted

1. Updated ImgBurn

2. Installed Windows 7 SP-1

3. Changed Write Mode from DVD (default) to Auto.

Everything worked superbly, problem solved!

4. Made donation to developer via PayPal.

The default is and always has been 'Auto'.

Obviously it would make no sense for it to be anything else (by default) if it doesn't always work!

Anyway, glad it's all sorted now and thank you for the donation :)
