BigG Posted October 15, 2011 Share Posted October 15, 2011 I am burning an ISO that I just made to a new DVD-R. After it finished burning, and it is cycling the tray before verify, the tray does not open and after attempting several times I get the error: Your drive seems to be having trouble initialising the disk that it has just burnt. The log says "Device Not Ready - Incompatible Medium Installed". Why am I getting this error and what do I do about it? LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 15, 2011 Share Posted October 15, 2011 Sorry, are you saying that for all the times it says 'Cycling tray before verify', it NEVER actually ejects the tray? That can't be good! There's an updated firmware available for your drive - http://www.firmwarehq.com/Pioneer/DVR-216D/files.html The discs you're using aren't the best in the world and burning them at MAX speed probably isn't helping. Try dropping the write speed down to something like 8x. If that doesn't work, you're with the other troubleshooting options of... 1. cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. 2. buying decent discs (Taiyo Yuden / Verbatim) 3. Buying a new drive. It does not eject the tray until I click "retry". Then it cycles the tray and gives the same error. I am writing another disk at 4x to see what happens. That worked. Thanks!!!
