hey guys,

i know theres already a similar thread, but reading it didnt help me so i started a new one.

im trying to burn an xbox iso, its the first of the new "xgd3" type.

so, after downloading the newest version of imgburn i started the process as usual and it worked- until it came to "finalizing disc", which imgburn is now working on since about an hour.

the first time this happened today i thought it was a somehow broken dvd so i started a 2nd try, but again it stops at the end.

what might help?

thanks alot.

Try the remaining supported speeds, 2x (2.4x) might not be the best one for your drive/firmware/media combo.

The drive is a good few years old now so cleaning it with a cleaning disc may help.

Try some discs from a different spindle too - just to rule out a faulty batch of discs.

If all else fails, invest in a new drive.

No, not slower... faster!

The supported speeds are 2.4x, 4x and 6x.

You've already tried 2.4x (even though you set it to 2x) so that leaves 4x and 6x.

Normally I'd recommend an Optiarc 7260/7280 but you might want to look at the 'Lite-On iHASx24 B' range.

If you're talking about the burners that'll accept the special firmware, they clearly state it must be 1 of 6 models - all of which are 'LiteOn iHASx24 B' something.

An 'Optiarc 7280S' is not a 'LiteOn iHASx24 B'.

ok, but my question is:

does this driver i posted and you recommended WORK when i want to use it for XGD3 iso's so i will be able to burn them on a DL DVD and play them in a xbox?

I did my homework. I guess i misunderstood your answer in the first place. Since theres no german shop which sells this certain drive, ill send the sony drive back and hope for another drive to come which will work.
