Invalid write Address (Verbatim)

Hello,

I recently received several Verbatim DL disks in the mail and was amped to get back to burning. However, two of these fives disks have continuously returned the error message "Invalid address for write" upon reaching 3% completion. Is there hope for Skyrim and I? I have attempted burns at these speeds, all to the same result (2.4x, 4x, 6x, and 8x) Please respond. Thank you.

It's unclear if you're attempting to burn a disc that's already failed.

9 times out of 10, that isn't possible.

If the drive still errors out with 'Invalid Address For Write' (as the initial error) when burning sectors 0-31, get yourself a new drive.

Avoid slimline ones because they're rubbish.

The best option would be a normal-sized burner installed in an external enclosure that can be connected to your laptop: that way you get the burn quality of a decent burner and you can take it anywhere/plug to any computer.

For the burner I'd use the latest Optiarc model (usually AD-7280S or AD-7260S) or maybe a Lite-On iHAS124 B (notice it's the B model not Y or some other). For the external enclosure you can use any model that can house the burner, but be sure you can return/exchange it in case it doesn't work well with your laptop (it's uncommon but not unheard of).
