a7madmad Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 the SATA adapter is an IDE to SATA converter I 18:44:09 -> Drive 1 - Info: ATAPI iHAS324 B AL1B (E:) (ATAPI) every time i try to burn anything the process gets stuck on "setting write parameters" and i cannot stop the burn unless i restart the computer. PS: the drive is changed with LT max firmware

LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 How about using a Silicon Image PCI card? Do you have any spare PCI slots? If the machine just won't process the command (and hangs/freezes), there isn't much I can do I'm afraid.
