manicjonah Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I unpacked an a bootable .iso using 7zip so I could replace a file that was in it. Can I simply add all of the files that were unpacked to the list of source files in IMGBurn and burn them right to a DVD and end up with a bootable DVD? I think I may be overthinking this, sorry for the stupid question. Just want to make sure that I don't have to go through the trouble of making something that was already bootable, bootable again (only have on DL DVD left, trying to get it right the first time). Thanks, MJ
manicjonah Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 Look in the Guides section. I don't see a guide that addresses this question. What am I missing? MJ
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 If you've unpacked the files from an ISO into a folder, it's no longer an ISO and therefore not bootable. If you want the new image you 'build' to be bootable, you have to make it so.
