SDAS Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Hi I started using Imgburn because I learnt NERO gives problems. But it seems problems are continuing. I do not think my DVD writer has any problem because I am using Dell XPS 14 laptop purchased in India less than 12 months ago i.e. Feb 2011. OS= Win 7 Home premium 64 bit 8 GB RAM HDD 140 GB free Used 4.7 DVD MOSERBAER. I even used slower speed as some suggest 4x instead of device max 8X. I calculated and attempted write only when 93% full was displayed. What can be the problem please? I 16:49:36 ImgBurn Version 2.5.6.0 started! SDAS Posted January 30, 2012 Author Posted January 30, 2012 Sorry I have another question and hence the TOPIC title is wrong. I initially thought of splitting my two questions into two topics but now that I have posted a different question with wrong title I will post my original qustion too. Is there any tool to close a disc once it is not written completely ? I used a DVD in NERO and it ended in error. But it shows the files in my original laptop and plays them too. But I think out f 713 files only 698 are readable due to incomplete disk. The IMgburn verifty report shows this.. So can I get something which will help me close this disc and show it as COMPLETE so can be read on other PCs? LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 If your drive is failing to burn then either it doesn't like the discs you're using very much or there's something wrong with it. Selecting a different write speed may improve its ability to burn the discs, as could cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. Personally, I'd just buy some decent Verbatim / Taiyo Yuden media and go from there. If your drive errored out during a burn, chances are that's why some of the files aren't readable - maybe they hadn't actually been written yet. Closing the disc isn't going to change that. In any case, if you want to attempt to close/finalise the disc, right click the drive selection box and pick Close -> Track / Session / Disc (in that order). Expect errors.
