tighty1 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 (edited) It's kind of ironic that i clicked the "start new topic" button, this clearly isn't new to anyone. I have read most of the other threads on sync issues but none seem to my issue. i get a sync error at 100% Here is my latest log: I 16:21:20 ImgBurn Version 2.5.6.0 started! Every disc i try i get the same sync error. after i get the disc out (turn off PC) i run Kprobe and the results are OK. my XBox won't even recognise the disc. Anyone any advice on my sync error just tried it on another image (single layer) and it worked fine?? perhaps it's the iso? Edited January 31, 2012 by tighty1
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I'm not seeing an error, I just see you aborting. Is the 'error' that it never finishes? Obviously you're messing around with a modified firmware and the drive doesn't behave quite as it should do when burning MKM-003-00. You will have to try various settings (eeprom/advanced ones) until you find some that work reliably for you. Do you know what make the sata controller is that you've attached the drive to? The image you're burning is not the problem, data is data to a drive.
tighty1 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 exactly the burn sticks on sync cache. I know i have modded firmware but i burned an single layer ISO with no problems, which seems strange to me. I'll try altering a few eeprom settings and see. Not sure what SATA Cont i have but running a Dell Inc. 0FF3FN A00 main board
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Right click the drive selection box and pick 'Family Tree'. Close the prompt it brings up and then copy + paste the family tree info from the Log window.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Ok so it's an AMD controller. Do you have their latest chipset/sata controller drivers installed? Get them from the AMD website. Have you tried burning at 4x?
tighty1 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 yeah, just tried at x4 and same result. I think i have the latest chipset, i'll look ..tomorrow. many thanks, you can't pay enough for this kind of support.
tighty1 Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 Flippin nora, that was emotional. 3 hours later and i thought i had it sorted, It's the last time i buy a Dell computer, no matter how good a deal it is. They use OME motherboards so finding out which is your actual chipset is crazy. I update my AMD RAID, and two other major AMD catalyst upgrades (with these though it is hard to know what they are upgrading). If i run driver genius now it shows only realtek audio drivers as out of date. Driver detective showed the following as out of date before and after running the catalyst updates: "AMD AHCI compatible RAID controller" but this does not show up on driver genius??? no idea how to update this and googling it appears of no use either. I struggle to see why it doen't crash on single layer iso's. So i ran another disk and still synch crash. feel like giving up!
