eckles Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Hi. I'm trying to burn a bootable disc of Macpup and Imgburn is doing all sorts of weird things. I've attached a jpg of the error which will hopefully show up. In the pic it shows the icon for Macpup coming up as a nice little Macpup_Foxy_2.0.iso file on the desktop (lower left). I put it into Imgburn and it shows up as Desktop.mds. I get the error in the pic no matter what I do. Any suggestions? I'm running Windows 7 Home. Thnx for any help.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 What files do you actually have? Desktop.mds and Desktop.iso ? The Desktop.mds file seems to have the name Macpup_Foxy_2.0.iso embedded in it (rather than Desktop.iso). Rename the files accordingly or just delete the mds and load the ISO.
eckles Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 I have Macpup Foxy 2.0. Its labelled that in the properties as well but every time I add the file to burn in Imgburn it shows in the program as Desktop.mds. I get the error in the screen dump above. I have a friend that uses this software and he doesn't get the error like I do. He's stumped too. Suggestions?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Open Explorer (My Computer) and browse to the desktop folder. Take a screenshot of what's visible. Make sure you've turned off the 'Hide file extensions for known files' option in 'Folder Options' within Control Panel - so I can see the full file name including the file extension. Please also upload the mds file (zip it or whatever) so I can check it.
eckles Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 'Ere tis. The mds file is actually my desktop so I can't upload that. I could sent it thru the post but you'd get a brand new laptop...and that ain't happenin' lol.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Eh? The 'Desktop.mds' file I need to look at is in 'C:\Users\Julie\Documents' - as per your initial screenshot. You appear to have missed my request for this to be done. Make sure you've turned off the 'Hide file extensions for known files' option in 'Folder Options' within Control Panel - so I can see the full file name including the file extension. Why are you even loading Desktop.mds in the first place? Why can't you just load Macpup_Foxy_2.0.iso ?
eckles Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 Sorry. Hope I've got what you need now. I tried to upload the Macpup file but it came up with an error and wouldn't let me.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I didn't say to 'upload' the macpup file, I said to load it... as in, within ImgBurn's Write mode. Double clicking on it would do.
eckles Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 Thanks for your help. I don't think I'm intended to geek. I'll leave it to the experts.
