Could we have a default language setting set as : like operating system

Adobe Reader with MUI does behave like that and i would like to have the same behavior with ImgBurn

Controlling the Adobe Reader MUI startup language

If no extra language file found in .\Languages folder, ImgBurn would start with native language English

if language file EQU language of running operating system found in .\Languages folder, ImgBurn will use this language as default.

And i hope launching ImgBurn /PORTABLE would pick-up also this setting.

You mean so it changes automatically (upon startup) based on the user's current OS language settings?

I could make it attempt to default to it on a fresh install (or when there's no language setting saved/available).

What the user picks manually via the Settings will override it though.

Yes

GUI Localization Language

based on the user's current OS language setting >>> if localization.lng file not available in .\Languages folder, use native English language You may add option "same_as_OS" selection in Settings > Language or keep English as default

user could pick manually via the Settings.

Thanks for the new language option in v2.5.7.0

System Default

or

User specified

although i don't understand how you select language.

Windows XP Professional MUI:

my OS Regional and Language Options:

"Regional Options":

"Standards and formats": French

"Location": France

"Language used in menus and dialogs": English

"Default input Language": French

french.lng copied to "%ProgramFiles%\ImgBurn\Languages"

at 1st launch, imgburn automatically pickup french language for GUI

It should use the OS setting "Language used in menus and dialogs" set to English ans start with English GUI.

If i switch "Language used in menus and dialogs" to French (OS), (ImgBurn) should launch GUI translated to french.
