Error when burning

Suddenly I've experienced problems with burning. It fails every time now. I've tried to see if updating ImgBurn was the problem, but it's the newest version. I've tried to update the driver to the DVD writer, but it says it's the newest driver. Some of the topics in here suggested that it might be the drive that failed. So I've bought a new drive and installed it, but now the first burn failed just like with the other drive. Help please.

I've attached the burnlog.

The file wasn't attached. It should be now. Also I tried to remove ImgBurn and install it again with no change. I tried to burn with Nero, but that didn't fix it either.

Have you tried burning at all of the supported write speeds?

I 12:45:44 Destination Media Supported Write Speeds: 4x; 6x; 8x; 12x; 16x

If none of them work, buy better discs. Something from Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden (Victor JVC).

Yes, I've tried burning at all speeds, but with no result. I don't understand what it would help with other discs. I'm using Maxell that came highly recommended and I've burned several hundreds of them, but suddenly that error just begun.

Well, you've now got 2 drives that won't burn the cheapo 'RITEKF1' MID/dye (the 'Maxell' brand name means nothing).

So like I said, try better discs... or don't, the choice is yours.

Okay, I will try the better discs. I just don't understand why I could burn 3-400 discs of that type and now I suddenly can't with neither the old or the new drive. I would be pleased if you can answer that to satisfy my curiousity and so that I can learn.

I didn't know that the brand name was irrelevant, but it was the type that meant something. I can see from the page I usely buy from that there are several brands with the type RITEKF1. I can see that Verbatium has a different type.

I'm sorry, I can't give you the answer you're looking for.

The drive burns the disc and it's failing to do so - there's nothing I can do about it. ImgBurn tells you the error the drive returned when it failed.

Maybe the quality of the discs has deteriorated over time or your most recent spindle uses a different dye/MID to your previous ones.

The next logical step in troubleshooting your issue is to try with decent discs.

Okay, but thank you anyway :) I tried the local store for Verbatim, but they didn't have them. I will try a different store tomorrow in a different town, so I can see if that helps. I hope it does.
