Verify fail when burning single layer (BD-R) media

Hi,

For the past two years I've been successfully burning BD-R media, both single layer and double layer (RITEK-BR2-00, marketed as Maxell x4; MEI-RA1-7D, marketed as Panasonic x6; CMCMAG-DI6-00, marketed as MBI x6; and BD-REs marketed as TDK), using an LG BH08LS20, always with the latest firmware. In fact, I've oversped the Maxells and Panasonics to x8 with 100% success, and excellent playback results on both standalone and software players.

Just after updating to ImageBurn 2.5.7.0, I tried to burn a few Blu-Ray films using the Panasonics oversped to x8, and I received a verify error. The burned disc was recognised both by standalone and software players, but the files highlighted as erroneous in the verify failed to play. However, when I burned the same Blu-Ray files at the disc's maximum nominal speed (x6), everything went smoothly.

My question: has anything changed in version 2.5.7.0 that would make it difficult for me to overspeed burns using the LG BH08LS20, or should I try to alter any settings, or just stick to nominal speed. I'll just stress that the newer version of ImageBurn is the only variable altered in my system.

Nope, nothing has changed. This is purely a drive/firmware/media combo issue.

I think I'll just stick to nominal speeds, and post if any related problems appear.
