Morx Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 (edited) iHas124 Rev B flashed with burner max firmware... trying to burn a dual layer disc, and at 50% , the burn fails every single time. The first time I had it set to burn at 2.4x , which is not supported by my discs. The second time I told it to burn at 4x, and it still failed with the exact same error. Please help! For reference, I was able to burn older games just fine with my old burner. I get the new iHas in hopes of being able to back up the newer games, and it hasn't worked since with old or new games. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. I/O Error! LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I can see you've changed a few settings from their default values... can I assume you've therefore tried them all individually enabled/disabled? When I tested the modified firmware (around the time of its release), I only really tried it on the proper Verbatim media. I gave some Aone Plus a go and it burnt 1 and errored out on several others - that's when I gave up using anything other than the recommeneded media. Perhaps it's time you did the same? My drive worked best burning the Verbatim MKM-003-00 discs @ 4x with 'Force HT' enabled via its EEPROM settings ('Online HT' left disabled - its default). All the program settings were left on their default values.
Morx Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 Turned off Online HT, and still failed at 50% Turned off Force HT, and it has passed 50%!!!! Do any of these settings make the burn better? Should I try and turn Online HT back on? or don't even bother?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 They change the way the drive burns the disc - so yeah, the quality of the burn will change depending on what you've selected. The settings are nothing to do with the program, it's all internal drive logic stuff.
Morx Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 So without any of them selected, are my burns going to be horrible quality? Having them not selected is the only way I was able to get my drive to burn past 50%. But I'm worried that my burns will be bad if I don't have the options selected.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I can't answer that, you'll have to burn some discs and scan them yourself. If the only way you can get the drive to burn those discs 100% is by having them off, obviously you shouldn't have turned them on in the first place!
darkavix Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 now i have two verbatim mkm 003, i enabled smartburner and force hypertuning and i burn with 2,4 x with opc disabled
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 This isn't your thread darkavix, don't hijack please.
Adrianvdh Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Did you atleast verifie the iso with ABGX360
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 The correctness of an image has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not it'll burn.
Adrianvdh Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Some times maby? doesnt the firmware look at the patches?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 No, never. It doesn't know, care or understand what it's being told to burn, it's just a bunch of data.
Adrianvdh Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Ok so how do you explain a bad rip that doesnt burn correctly?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 There's no such thing. It's just what people who don't know anything tell other people that know even less.
Adrianvdh Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) Ok but about 7 months ago I created a ISO of COD MW3 and it was a bad rip and it didnt burn correctly on verbatuim media but showed nicly on ABGX360 and I reripped it and it worked. Besides why does the guys on ABGX360.net say when they upload game info to they DB they rip it twice to be sure... http://www.abgx360.net/chat/index.php If you came here to ask when will agame be verified, please go away. Games get verified by trusteduploaders buying/renting the game, ripping it (twice) and then uploadingthe files to the database. Until that happens, the game will NOT beverified. There is no 'timeframe' as to when a game will be verified. Edited February 15, 2013 by Adrianvdh
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 What the abgx360 guys say has nothing to do with burning. You can burn complete and utter rubbish to a disc - how on earth do you expect the drive to know what's valid data and what isn't?! It's the playback device that cares if it's valid or not.
Adrianvdh Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Yes I understand you now but why did it keep failing all the time before I created a new ISO of the disc
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 No idea but it wasn't because of incorrect data in your image.
