I can't buy Verbatim , it's not available in Pakistan, I successfully did my burning last time, it was just okay! Now it's having the problem, is there any way out?

Posted

As that topic says, try burning at the other available write speeds (4x and 6x in your case). If that still doesn't work you can try cleaning your drive with a lens cleaning disc.

Alternatively you could try using another burner, preferably not a slim-type since they're poor quality burners. You could also try with other DVD+R DL media you can find.

That thread tells you some things you can try with your current media, it's not all about buying Verbatim discs (although that is the main purpose of it).

edit: snap :)

I have a laptop, not that slim, but the shocking part is that same laptop burned the other media disc, when it burned I was much happy with IMGburn, but after that day I had to burn other disc, then the status bar said disc not empty, then lightening uk told me to get other media, I got it and now its bringing up I/O error...

The burn process relies on the burner/firmware/media combination:

  • laptop burners (also known as slim burners) in general have poor burn quality, so that's why it's important to use high quality media. You could try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc, or even manually cleaning if you know how to carefully do it;
  • you could try and find a firmware update for your burner in the laptop manufacturer's website, as this could improve the burner's support for DVD+R DL media;
  • you can try other brands of DVD+R DL media and their supported write speeds on your burner to try and find a combination that works.
