Garth02 Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Hi I'm still pretty new to all this but recently all of my DVDs have been failing to burn. LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Try at 4x? Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc? Try a disc from another spindle of discs? (Maybe MKM-003-00 instead of MKM-001-00)
Garth02 Posted June 30, 2012 Author Posted June 30, 2012 I tried burning a diffrent file at 4x and it worked currently trying the previoues file if it gets past 50% then hopefully everything will be fine
Garth02 Posted June 30, 2012 Author Posted June 30, 2012 I think it might be the iso itself cause it cant seem to break the 2nd layer on this specific file
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 The drive doesn't know or care about what you're burning. If it errors out then it's due to a problem burning the media and nothing to do with the file.
Garth02 Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 Sorry its just that I find it weird you see. The ISO file I'm burning was from a custom DVD video I was making however the DVD burning software I was using could not make a layer break for the DL. So I saved the file as a ISO then use ImgBurn's build mode to find where I should put the layer break then use VobBlanker to create a layer break point then went back to ImgBurn to build the new ISO with the layer break. When I did it with the first disc of my set it worked fine, The second one I did not have the instructions up so I might have messed up when creating the layer break in VobBlanker (As it always messes up for me when its about to burn the next layer) I re-burn the first disc and there was no problems, I even created the third disc and there were no problems, its just that second ISO file I created that seems to always mess up(I've done the second one 7 times and it always stops at 50% just when its about to do the second layer).
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Maybe its to do with you burning more/less per layer... but it's nothing to do with the (contents of the) actual image.
