You've messed around too much with the eeprom settings.

I 18:04:28 Advanced Settings - Force HT: Yes, Online HT: Yes, OverSpeed: Yes, SmartBurn: Yes

Put it to...

I 18:04:28 Advanced Settings - Force HT: Yes, Online HT: No, OverSpeed: No, SmartBurn: Yes

and then burn at 4x.

Turn off 'Perform OPC Before Write' and clear opc history in the advanced settings feature/eeprom tool.

Look on the packaging your discs came in and see what it says for where they were made. Ones from Singapore seem to be the best. It probably wouldn't hurt to buy another spindle from a different supplier and try one from that.

btw, service pack 1 is out for windows 7 - and has been for ages now.

Thanks for the reply to be honest I have tried it with opc on and off with the same results. The discs I have got are from play and are the singapore manufactured. So I am at a loss as to what is going on. As for the service pack I dont have enough space on my hard drive for installation lol. I used to be able to burn discs fine then it just stopped, So I bought a new drive because I thought it was that and its exactly the same

Quick update, I think I have found the problem. I swapped the sata and the power lead with my other drive and so far it has burned 5 discs without problems. I have found if i wiggle the leads in the power plug the drive goes on and off so obviously a bad connection in the pug somewhere.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to lightning uk! for his help trying to fix it and keep up the good work with imgburn. Thank you.
