Burning Issue...Been Reading all night. HELP!

Okay!

So I've been trying to burn Dvd's Tonight.....

I've wasted about 17 discs and only have managed to make 1 copy that was successful....

Please help!!!

Media:

Verbatim Dvd-R

Burner:

Samsung SE-208 <----Updated the firmware......

Converter:

CovertXtoDVD <-----Latest Version......

I've tried burning.....Fast....Slow (8x down to 2x).......It will write about 50% than the write speed will drop down to 0% and nothing will happen. I have to unplug the portable burner just so I can exit out of the program......

My internal dvd won't even read the new discs I just bought.....

I thought having this BRAND NEW Dvd Burner would make it easier......

I've been going at it for 6 hours now......

Please help!

If it's just stopping burning, it's probably related to the new drive you've just got.

To be honest, you'd have been better off getting a drive to replace the one inside your machine instead of an external one.

How does the USB one connect to your PC? Just via 1 USB port? Does it have an external power supply?

It powers from 2 USB....I have an old computer. It's an ide motherboard. So this seemed like a decent solution. My internal drive doesn't read the verbatim.....I burned some Memorex though.

I managed to burn 1 disc successfully.....is there anything I can do with what I have ? It's super frustrAting
