chevron Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Firstly I have searched this forum and found a couple of posts relating to error messages about ISO images not being mastered correctly for double layer discs. I have read them (and advice on other forums / Q&A sites) and I have followed all the advice / suggestions given. Without success. I am in Australia (Region 4) and my Home Theatre System is region locked. I have an interest in, and have purchased many, music DVDs from Japan (Region 2). These DVD are produced for the Japanese domestic market and are not available as Region 4 pressings. I have been able to make "region free backups" of my single layer DVDs, using a variety of software tools, without any problems. I cannot do this for double layer DVDs. I have tried various software tools to either create ISO images directly or create DVD video file folders and then make ISO images from them. In every case when I try to burn the ISO image to disc ImgBurn gives me the following error: I have gone ahead, ignoring the error but the results have been poor. The transition between layers is quite noticable, occuring in the middle of a song, with a few seconds of complete video and audio drop out. I now have a number of expensive drinks coasters! As I said I have researched this problem and tried many options. My latest attempt involved using DVDFab to rip the files from the DVD disc to my hard disc. Then use ImgBurn to to "build" an ISO image from files / folders. When I try to get ImgBurn to burn the ISO that it has created I still get the above error. Here is a copy of the log of the last attempt made: ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 - Log ; Thursday, 25 October 2012, 12:51:45 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 12:46:22 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started! What is wrong here? Why can't ImgBurn burn its self-created ISO image without errors? Regards chevron
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 There's something wrong with the disc you're trying to burn to - it doesn't have the normal/full capacity available. I 12:50:54 Destination Media Sectors: 4,049,376 Use another new one with the image that ImgBurn built for you.
