snifferpro Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 VLC Error playing Home Made or Copied Audio CD I created an audio cd using Imgburn in the following 2 ways: 1. Create an ISO from original Retail cd 2. Burn the ISO using Imgburn. and 3. Create a cue sheet from the ripped files form the retail cd. 4. Select Write and burn the Audio CD. When i insert the just created CD back into the drive it does not open automatically in VLC, Windows Media Player, or Itunes. VLC and Windows Media Player refuse to play the CD. Itunes sees it but requires me to select a song to play it. When I insert a Retail audio cd into the same drive it opens automatically in VLC and starts playing. I get the following error message from VLC; "Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:///D:/'. Check the log for details." No error messages from Windows Media Player, Imgburn, or Itunes. I can force the home brew audio cd to play in Itunes only. VLC refuses to play the CD as well as Windows Media Player. I'm using VLC V2.0.4, Imgburn 2.5.2.0, and Windows 7 Pro 64. Can you enlighten me as to what the problem is and how to resolve it?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 1. Install the current version of ImgBurn 2. Burn+verify an Audio CD BIN/CUE image. 3. Post the log.
snifferpro Posted October 30, 2012 Author Posted October 30, 2012 Ok, I installed the latest versio, created and ISO and b urned it. Re-inserted it into the drive and VLC now opens and plays. Thanks, that seems to have done the trick. If I have further issues I will repost on the forum.
