external burner not detected! helpppp

I know the burner works because i used it before to burn games but i did it on my desktop, i now have everything on my laptop for some reason i cant get it to detect, is there a certain kind of dvd i need or what ahhhh

Please post the log - as per the pink box up the top.

 

So as to not waste anyone's time, please make sure the drive is visible in My Computer / Explorer first. Until it is, ImgBurn won't be able to see it.

 

The best way to do that would be to bring up 'My Computer' ('Computer') with the drive disconnect and then connect/turn on the external drive. You should see another drive suddenly appear in the 'My Computer' window.

how do i go about making it visible, i see the drive on the 'COMPUTER' ... i right clicked and went to properties and did all that and it says its on...

Just copy + paste everything from the Log window.

here you go, it detects it at first but when i load the blank cd in there it goes away

Ok so this is a problem outside of ImgBurn then.

 

Try a new USB cable, different USB port etc. It could also be the PSU for the drive.

ok once i try all that and if nothing works, then what is the PSU ?
