holygamer Posted December 1, 2012 Share Posted December 1, 2012 (edited) I could write several batches of single layer Bluray discs then at random the program freezes at 0% when writing the lead-in. It doesn't really freeze, the timer just keeps going and nothing happens. If I click on Stop, nothing happens and the timer keeps going. I could restart my PC and the drive would work again but that would cause me to lose my work - I'm encoding videos at the same time. I have a Core i7 2700K (8 core at 4.2 Ghz) and 8GB DDR3 RAM. So I try to delete the process in Task Manager but it won't delete! I'm forced to restart my PC to get the drive working again. Nothing was written to the disc and I can start another burn and it burns fine. The logs don't even show anything since Nov 26 which I don't understand as I've had several successful burns since then. Save logs is enabled. I use MediaRange 4x Bluray disc (ID is LGEBRA-S04-000). I have the LG Bluray BH10LS38.AUAR 10x Internal BD-RW Retail Kit. I've been using it regularly for 6 months. It worked fine in my Vista 32-bit PC with the same vesion of ImgBurn with the same brand of discs. I have the latest drive firmware installed. ImgBurn is not in control at this point and it's why you can't stop it or kill the task. As such, you should be looking at the controller drivers etc for the actual cause of the problem. Posted December 1, 2012 Share Posted December 1, 2012 Your drive is attached to an SATA port on the motherboard (hopefully!) which is connected in one way or another to an SATA controller. The drivers for that controller (or some other 3rd party driver installed on your machine) are what's messing up and causing I/O to get stuck on your system. So look for updated chipset/SATA controller drivers for your machine. If you switch to 'Write' mode within ImgBurn and right click the drive selection box, you should see a 'Family Tree' entry. It says something like starting to write disc then it shows that I initiated a stop command. I have an Asus P8Z77-V Pro motherboard. Posted December 13, 2012 Share Posted December 13, 2012 The family tree info is written to the log window, that's why you called it up (the family tree) and were then supposed to copy + paste everything from it (the log window). Do not close the log window, it's open by default for a reason. Close it and you'll miss stuff.
