After many DVD-DL well written, today I have opened a new pack from "Ridata" (disk manufacturer is Ritek) and I have toasted the first three... first I was burning an iso image but then I have tried burning directly without saving it as iso first. My writer is maybe a bit old, is a NEC 3540 with a modified firmware (never had trouble with it before) from http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/ The log file is attached... It looks like my drive doesn't like this media at all!! I have tried on a HP laptop using a Samsumg drive: it has been burned perfectly! ...only difference is that on my Nec the available speeds are: 4x 6x and 8x while on the Samsung are: 3x 4x and 6x! If your drive won't burn the RITEK ones, you'll have to go back to what you used before - or go with the tried and tested Verbatims as mentioned above. Yes, most of them were RICOH... actually only now, after many years!, I have learned the difference... I guess my device is too old for these new 8x disks... A friend of mine has a not used burner that will give to me for a test, he doesn't remember the brand. Yes, next time I'll take much more care of the real manufacturer...
