Wanted to create an .iso file on my usb drive (fat32) and its a rather large dvd iso (~6gb) and imgburn said it was making an .iso but instead it came out as a .mdf do you know if this is because fat32 has a 4gb limit on file transfers? I didnt know that the creation of the iso (or .mdf rather) was considered a file transfer. Maybe its nothing, so long as DTools can read the mdf i dont care but i do like the neat package of one .iso file instead of a .mdf and .i01 .i02 etc of the MDS image.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Yes, it's because you can't make files larger than 4GB in size on a FAT32 drive. There's no MDF file, just an MDS file and the different parts that make up the ISO (I01, I02 etc).
