dual layer burning

hi all. i have looked through a lot of posts and i cant find the info i need. sorry if it is there somewhere and i have missed it. point me to it and i will try my best to follow it.

i want to burn approx 5.5gigs of data (multiple windows driver files, not video) which i already have as an iso file, on to a dual layer disk. i haven't yet tried so dont know if i will have a problem with the make of disk etc. all the guides and posts i read seem to relate to movie files, but nothing as far as a pure data file. what i want to know is the idiot proof instructions, the most important being do i have to specify a layer break? if so, where? if so, how? or can i simply put the disk in, select 'write image file to disk', and proceed to burn at slow speed?

many TIA

No, you don't need to specifiy a layer break position.

Yes, you just use 'write image file to disc' and proceed to burn at whatever speed your drive does the best job at on the media you've purchased. You should still be using decent discs if you want a decent quality burn.

many tnx for the info, LIGHTNING UK!. much appreciated. will give it a try then and see how it goes. at least now if i get a fail, the chances are it's going to be the make of disk.

one other question, if i may. will the disk produced be self-booting or is that dependant on how the ISO was made and not how it's burnt?
