David Miller
I am hoping someone can help me with this. Was attempting to create a playable DVD from an .avi file source using DVDMaker/img burn. I think I had everything correct until I started the process through imgburn. Here is the log. I 08:40:17 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started! I 08:40:17 Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Edition (6.1, Build 7601 : Service Pack 1) I 08:40:17 Total Physical Memory: 8,368,380 KB - Available: 5,019,820 KB W 08:40:17 Drive L:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. I 08:40:17 Initialising SPTI... I 08:40:17 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 08:40:17 -> Drive 1 - Info: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH70N UGA0 (E:) (ATAPI) I 08:40:17 Found 1 DVD±RW/RAM! I 08:41:06 Operation Started! I 08:41:06 Device: [0:1:0] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH70N UGA0 (E:) (ATAPI) I 08:41:06 Media Type: DVD+RW (Disc ID: SONY-S11-00) I 08:41:06 Media Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x, 4x I 08:41:06 Quick Erase: No I 08:41:06 Format Properly: Yes I 08:41:06 Format Size: Preferred I 08:41:06 Erasing Disc... W 08:45:39 Potential 'WaitImmediateIO' Deferred Error - (0%, 0/5) - Program Memory Area Update Failure E 08:45:43 Failed to Erase Disc! - Reason: Program Memory Area Update Failure E 08:45:43 Operation Failed! - Duration: 00:04:37 I would not that, although I am not the most tech-savvy guy out there I am far from the least. And that the process of merely taking 1) .avi file and turning it into 2) playable DVD has been a nightmare of Sisyphean proportions. Not imgburn's fault, obviously, as this technically is not your function, but I am trying to do what should be a very simple thing and have wasted about 3 precious of my life attempting to figure out how to do so. Your site comes highly recommended. My girlfriend has some version of Nero and does this all the time, but I hear terrible things about that program. Everyone always says "use dvd flick/imgburn, so much better." Anyway, based on the errors identified above am I in a completely hopeless spot with respect to using DVDflick/imgburn? Or is there something that I can do to get this working.
LIGHTNING UK!
It looks like your drive has a problem with 'SONY-S11-00' discs (or maybe just that one if it's dirty/scratched). Try some others.
David Miller
Thanks! I will. Glad to hear it is something relatively simple like that.
